Lowering springs can increase the demands placed on your vehicle's suspension components. Since many original equipment (OE) shocks and struts are already worn from normal use, installing stiffer, shorter springs can expose weaknesses in the existing suspension setup.
While lowering springs may physically fit with your factory shocks and struts, we strongly recommend pairing them with a performance shock and strut setup designed to work with lowered vehicles.
Using worn OE shocks and struts with lowering springs can result in:
- A harsher or less controlled ride
- Reduced suspension performance
- Increased likelihood of bottoming out over bumps or uneven road surfaces
Factory shocks and struts are designed for the original spring rate and suspension travel. Lowering springs typically have a higher spring rate and reduce available suspension travel, which can require additional damping control.
A popular upgrade option for many applications is a Bilstein B8 Performance Dampers shock and strut setup, which is designed to work with lowered suspension systems.
For the best results, we recommend replacing worn suspension components at the same time as installing lowering springs.

Once your car is added to the selector, there are a couple of important ways that we advise correct fitment.
The first is the "fitment indicator" shown on the Product Page after selecting a part. This box is below the "Add to Cart" button and has two states. It will either say "Yes, this part fits" or "Part may not fit, click to verify".
Sometimes the green box will be accompanied by extra fitment notes. These notes may be independent of the information gathered by the vehicle selector. IE: VIN-specific options need to be taken into account when determining overall fitment.
