If you're considering a Genuine BMW M Performance Brake Kit upgrade, the first step is identifying which brake system is currently installed on your vehicle.
Factory M Sport Brakes (Option Code S2NH / S2NHA)
Vehicles equipped with Option Code S2NH (S2NHA for North American models) feature the factory M Sport brake package. These brakes are easily identified by their blue fixed-piston front brake calipers with the BMW ///M logo.
If your vehicle has these blue calipers, it is already equipped with the factory M Sport braking system. The aftermarket M Performance Brake Kit uses the same caliper design, but is available in Red, Yellow, or Orange with upgraded drilled and dimpled front rotors.
Standard Brakes
If your vehicle has steel-colored (silver/gray) brake calipers, it is equipped with the standard braking system rather than the factory M Sport package. These calipers have a plain cast-metal finish and do not feature the blue paint or ///M branding found on S2NH-equipped vehicles.
