If you are shopping for a PCV for your 2.0 T-powered Audi or VW and see mention of "black" or "clear" top versions. The first step is to identify what is currently on the vehicle, pictured below are a black top and clear top respectively.
If you have a clear top, you will purchase another clear top PCV and the part will be a direct bolt-on fit. However, if you have a black top currently installed, your options are to simply replace it with another black top, or to upgrade to the updated clear top PCV.
To upgrade a black-top running vehicle to a clear top, the front crankshaft seal will need to be replaced with an updated part number to handle the increase in pressure. The ECM will also need to be updated at the dealer in order to properly function with the clear top installed.
To shop for PCV kits for your vehicle please enter your vehicle information on fcpeuro.com underneath "Select your Vehicle". Simply enter your Year, Make, Model, Submodel, and applicable trims. Once your car is selected at fcpeuro.com, our catalog is automatically filtered to show parts that fit your specific car.
Once your car is added to the selector, there are a couple of important ways that we advise correct fitment.
The first is the "fitment indicator" shown on the Product Page after selecting a part. This box is below the "add to cart button" and has two states. It will either say " Yes this part fits" or "Part may not fit, click to verify".
Sometimes the green box will be accompanied by extra fitment notes. These notes may be independent of the information gathered by the vehicle selector. IE: VIN-specific options, need to be taken into account when determining overall fitment.
